We were proud to showcase our signature small group tours with superb hotel accommodation. Traveling in very small personal groups of only 4-6 guests, nature-loving visitors can explore the vicinity of Reykjavík on horseback or on foot. Our Sagas & Spa Hiking Tour takes you on four wonderful hikes, each day with its own theme. In the afternoon, enjoy a different geothermal spa in the area. These groups are limited to six guests, making them very personal and giving you the experience of a private tour. The nights are spent at the wonderful downtown 4-star Spa Hotel Reykjavík Saga, within easy walking distance to some of Reykjavík’s best restaurants. Please check here for availabilities. Our Reykjavik Riding Secrets tour takes you in groups of only four riders on beautiful trails through volcanic landscapes, along beaches, and summer fields filled with delightful purple lupine. Tölting away blissfully on our smooth horses, accompanied by your Icelandic hosts and staying at cozy Countryside Hotel Kríunes with a hot tub, sauna, and beautiful views of the mountains, it's no surprise that this tour has been one of our most popular. Please check here for availabilities. The capital area of Iceland is known as the Greater Reykjavik area, which includes Reykjavik, the capital city, and its surrounding municipalities. The capital area boasts a mix of modern and historic architecture, offering a bustling urban lifestyle surrounded by beautiful natural scenery. The area is situated on the southwestern coast of the country, approximately a 45-minute drive from Keflavík Airport, and provides stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and nearby mountains. It is the cultural and economic heart of Iceland, home to numerous museums, theaters, and art galleries. The region is also known for its geothermal activity, with popular attractions such as the Blue Lagoon and Sky Lagoon. We recommend strolling through downtown Reykjavik to admire colourful buildings, visit boutiques, and relax at cozy cafés. Don't miss the striking Hallgrímskirkja church with its panoramic views from the tower. You can also discover Iceland's history, culture, and art at museums such as the National Museum of Iceland and the Reykjavik Art Museum. The Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre is also worth visiting for its architecture and cultural events. Don't forget to sample Icelandic dishes at local restaurants, including seafood delicacies, lamb dishes, and traditional fare like fermented shark and skyr (a dairy product).
If you love shopping, there are plenty of markets and shops to purchase handcrafted items such as wool products, jewellery, and other traditional Icelandic goods. See you soon in Reykjavík! Text by: Meike Witt
