We have been on a week long self-drive tour, organized and planned by Meike Witt from Exploring Iceland. After some e-mails and a video call, checking our plans and expectations she designed a wonderful program for us. Starting with our 4x4 car rental at the airport we had a nice checklist of to do´s and possibilities along the road for every day . So it was very easy and a lot of fun , doing the trip „on our own“ but at the same time being sure not to miss the best spots and being very very comfortable, riding along this wonderful island with its breathtaking views and landscapes. All the sightseeing spots, hikes and tours were great and like pearls on a string-wonderful planning. Great to arrive at a prearranged spot for the night – sometimes a small hotel , sometimes some luxury , sometimes a Mongolian yurt . Perfect array of accommodation. Sure it would have been possible to do all the planning and booking by yourself — but it was so nice and easy to let Meike do this for us, that we will enjoy this service again for sure for our next trip to Iceland….Plan and travel with Exploring Iceland and spoil yourself

Ps: Thank you also for the little secrets , special restaurants, riding tour to a waterfall, hidden hot spring in the middle of nowhere etc etc – it was a perfect week for us!

My family are all expert riders (I am a professional equestrian) and we all couldn't recommend them more! We rode for 5 days, each day more beautiful then the next. The owners are kind, funny, salt of the Earth type of people and our guide Martina was awesome! As an equestrian, I am bored on most riding tours, but NOT here! They tailored our experience perfectly to our riding level and I had such a blast. The horses are very well trained and very well cared for. We rode to local hot springs and cafes with amazing food. 
We left feeling like we were a part of their family! 10/10 would recommend!"

Schweren Herzens haben wir uns am Sonnabend von wunderbaren Pferden und herzlichen Gastgebern verabschieden müssen. Dass schließlich das "Begleitpersonal" auf der Tour aus drei Freunden besteht, die uns in ihre Runde aufgenommen und sogar in ihr Privathaus eingeladen haben ... Darauf waren wir nun wirklich nicht vorbereitet! Wir hatten gemeinsam viel Spaß und haben die herrliche Natur bei gutem Wetter genossen.
