EXPLORING ICELAND BY BUS / FOOT
Meike Witt Meike Meike is a professional tourist guide and member of the Iceland Tourist Guide Association and is qualified as a Wilderness First Responder (WFR). Her passion is horses and she is a strong supporter of animal welfare and environmental protection. She and her family live today on a little farm with lots of pets close to Þjórsárdalur Valley in South Iceland. Languages: German English Icelandic |
Ágúst S. Harðarson Gusti Gusti has been with Exploring Iceland since it was founded. He is an Explore award winning guide and is much loved by our guests. Gusti is easy going guy who always want to do his best for our guests. He is from Dalir district in West Iceland where people are known for enjoying life at the fulliest. Þórey Sigþórsdóttir Thorey The lovely Thorey is an actress, drama teacher, voice trainer and a tourist guide. One of her studies was at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London. She is a mother of two childen, one being the actress Hera Hilmars, who has played a leading roles in both Icelandic and International films. Languages: English Icelandic |
Erla Björg Arnardóttir erla Erla is a professional tourist guide (Iceland Tourist Guide Association) and a keen gardener. She knows her ways around the highland and is not afraid of driving a super truck or really any other kind of vehicle! She loves to sing, has a brilliant sense of humour and loves to explore he Icelandic outdoors with our guests, friends and family. Erla know lots of hidden places in Iceland she would love to share with you! Languages: English Norwegian Icelandic Lilja Steingrímsdóttir lilja Lilja is a professional tourist guide and nurse with education in psychology. She loves geology and nature and is very well prepared for any questions regarding the Icelandic culture, geology and nature! Vala Hafstað vala After living in the US for decades, Vala moved back to Iceland several years ago. She loves meeting new people, telling stories, playing with words, and pointing out the humorous side of things. Among her favorite subjects are the peculiarities of Icelandic society. She’s a certified guide, a journalist, and a poet. Languages: English Icelandic Good understanding of French, German and Danish Jóna Fanney Friðriks Jóna Fanney Jóna Fanney has always been connected to horses.She studied to become a tour guide in 1986 when Reagan and Gorbachev held their talks in Reykjavík. Since then she has worked with both tourists and horses. She has been working a hectic desk job where there is a lot of stress but her passion is to be on a riding tour where people become one with the environment. Languages: English German Icelandic |

Steinunn Guðbjörnsd Steina Steinunn bought her first horse at the age of 16 and has been smitten by the „horse bug“ ever since. By now she owns 14 horses and some of her younger horses come from her own breeding lines. She celebrated her 50th birthday by riding across Iceland 715 km in 19 days.
