Für unsere deutschen Island-Krimi Fans zwei kurze Beiträge von Tina Flecken, unserer Exploring Iceland Literatur Beraterin. 
Während auf dem Kontinent schon der Frühling in der Luft liegt, ist Island noch tief im Schnee versunken. Genau die richtige Zeit, um es sich mit einem spannenden Krimi auf dem Sofa gemütlich zu machen, am besten mit einem isländischen! Denn trotz der geringen Kriminalitätsrate, morden die Isländer in Büchern mehr als je zuvor. Wer die Stars der isländischen Krimi-Szene Arnaldur Indriðason und Yrsa Sigurðardóttir schon kennt, kann jetzt auch mit den Büchern des Newcomers Ragnar Jónasson Island-Flair schnuppern. Schauplatz seiner Serie mit dem jungen Polizisten Ari ist das kleine Fischerdorf Siglufjörður in Nordisland. Mitten im Winter, der Ort ist tief verschneit, muss Ari in Snowblind seinen ersten Fall aufklären: Eine junge, halbnackte Frau liegt blutend und bewusstlos im Schnee, und ein alter Schriftsteller stürzt im Theater zu Tode.

The „Book Flood of Christmas“ or as the Icelanders say „Jólabókaflóðið“ 
 
The time around Christmas offers many challenges to the Icelanders. Besides Christmas preparations and Christmas shopping there is another very Icelandic facet to the time around the Advent! We are of course talking about the „Book Flood of Christmas“. Most of the published books in Iceland appear in November and December. Cafés, bookshops even schools invide for public readings. Everybody is talking about the ​
