I hope you like our new logos! Each represent different tour categories we are offering in Iceland: Exploring Iceland on foot, by bus and on horseback.

On horseback:
We will be offering absolutely unique riding tours for 2017 such as an 11- days Sheep & Horse Round Up combination tour in South and North Iceland,  Riding & Knitting and a special Family Adventure Riding Tour. We will be visiting the famous historic breeding farms of the North and Tölt on Ice! We also have a range of wonderful

riding tours with luxurious hotel accommodation in our program for 2017.

For autumn 2016 and spring 2017 keep our Northern Lights adventure in the Saddle tour in mind. With a lovely cultural program and a choice of lessons and trail rides in the snow.  Also perfectly suited for couples or groups of friends with non-riding partners.

By bus;
In the bus tour category we are also coming up with new ideas – we will be hunting Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) with an expert:  to see, understand and photograph this spectacular phenomen of the nordic winter sky. We will go around Iceland by bus in wintertime with romantic and wonderful cozy hotels and winter activities such as dog sledding and skiing with ocean view.

On foot:
Last but not least our great guided hiking tours with hotel accommodation, 4- days hikes in all parts of Iceland that can be combined to the likes of each and every client.

But why are we using the turfhouse in our logos?  Actually all of us are very fond of this special Icelandic architecture and my mother was actually born in a turfhouse in 1922. I loved her stories about the life in the turfhouses when I was just a small girl.  The houses were rather dark and damp but still kind of cozy. There was no electricity and normally there were two persons sharing one bed.  Both because of lack of space but also to keep each other warm. Many of my favorite books (one of them is „Independant People“ by Halldór Kiljan Laxnes) are set in turfhouses and demonstrate the hard life which most of Icelanders experienced before 1940.  Although my mother would never like to live in a turfhouse again, I find it somehow romantic to think about it! To share such a simple life with your loved ones, listening to storied told by a parent or grandparent and hearing the wind blow outside.  No TV, no Radio, no computers!

Meike lives in a beautiful modern day turfhouse in the countryside which has gras on the roof and no TV so she is kind of living my dream!   Thury has a summerhouse in the Western Fjords which is built like a turfhouse and without electricity and her family loves the „step back in time“ especially the kids!

We are offering unique accommodation with our friends in East Iceland where you can actully sleep in a turfhouse replica and imagine yourself back in 1920. We absolutely love this place where you can either go hiking, riding or just be without phones, computers and wifi for a while!

We have more great plans for using the original turfhouses in the near future – so stay tuned!

Looking forward to see you in Iceland
