This itinerary is a suggestion for private groups who want to stay in Reykjavík for the whole time but explore Iceland by daily excursions with a private driver guide out of Reykjavík.

In the capital area we have a number of excellent hotels that can accommodate small and larger groups who want to explore Iceland´s nature during the day but like to spend the evenings in the capital to try Reykjavík´s fine cuisine and cultural life.

Itinerary Suggestion  
 
Day 1 Arrival – Reykjanes - Blue Lagoon – Short City sightseeing for orientation – Free time
Meet and Greet with your private designated guide in the arrival hall at Keflavík Airport. We take a tour along the volcanic Reykjanes Peninsula with its fissures, craters and rough coastline, home to thousands of seabirds. We visit the Blue Lagoon for a refreshing bath after the flight before going either directly to your hotel in the capital area or take you for a short orientation city sightseeing tour where our guide will point out the places of interes such as best shopping areas, The Old Harbor area, various museums and exhibitions. Evening spend individually.
Good to know:
  • Blue Lagoon – the Blue Lagoon offers different packages from Entrance only to the luxurious Blue Lagoon Retreat.
  • If you would like to add some activities right away on day one we recommend an ATV or Buggy Tour on route to your hotel.
  • We are happy to book a wonderful welcome dinner for you in a special setting!
 
 Day 2 Golden Circle with waterfalls, hot spring, Greenhouse restaurant and some easy hikes  
Today we leave after breakfast for an extended sightseeing tour along the Golden Circle route with your private knowledgeable professional guide. You will explore Thingvellir National Park which sits right upon the Mid Atlantic ridge where the continents drift apart. With your guide you will walk about the historical parliament grounds and learn about the fascinating Icelandic medieval history. We recommend to stop for lunch at a lovely Greenhouse restaurant Friðheimar where you can choose from a number of very tasty home made dishes. It is a wonderful place everybody loves! Of course we will also visit Geyser Hot spring and Gullfoss Waterfall and if you are interested in a small and easy hike we know of a lovely area close by that offers both beautiful nature, views and a highly interesting historical background.
Good to know:
  • Add activities today such as horse back riding or river rafting.
  • Add relaxation by visiting one of the hot bathing springs in the area
  • Add a farm visit with cooking workshop or food sampling on a local farm
 
Day 3 Explore Reykjavík, the northernmost capital of the World!
We set a day aside for you to explore Reykjavík on your own - to find your way around Reykjavík is easy but we are also happy to arrange this day for your with your designated guide! Here are some ideas what there is to do!
Recommended activities:
  • Whale Watching from the Old Harbour (scheduled, private and RIB Boat tours)
  • Sea Angling rom the Old Harbour
  • Reykjavík Food Walk – daily departures starting from ISK 13.900 – private tours possible as well
  • Horse Back riding in between Pseudocraters
Museums & Culture
  • Fly over Iceland – an incredible multi media experience 
  • National Museum of Iceland
  • Árbær Open Air Museum
  • Wonders of Iceland Exhibtion with the Aurorar Show

 Day 4 Exploring the Wonders of the South Shore with waterfalls, glaciers and black lava beaches
Today your group will spend the whole day exploring the magnificent South Coast to see the stunning waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. You can even walk behind Seljalandsfoss! We will drive to the glacier lagoon of Sólheimajökull and visit the Black Lava Beach Reynisfjara with its beautiful basalt columns.
Good to know:
  • Add activities such as a Guided Glacier walk, a snowmobile tour on the glacier or an ATV tour on teh black beach.
  • Visit a Heritage Turf house Museum, a Lava Show with glowing Lava or add horseback riding along the beach.
 
Day 5 Snæfellsnes Peninsula  - West Iceland
Today we drive off to explore the natural wonders of West Iceland as we drive to the charming Snæfellsnes Peninsula – often called Iceland in a nutshell as all the Icelandic landscapes can be found here in one place: Glaciers and volcanoes, black and golden beaches, bird cliffs and seal colonies, high mountain peaks and rich green meadows.
Good to know:
  • Add activities such as visiting a lava cave, kayaking or a boat tour into the skerries of Breiðafjörður Bay.
 
Day 6 Private transfer to airport and departure
Enjoy a private transfer to Keflavík International Airport.
