Hotel Aldan is a lovely hotel with a historical atmosphere! Built in 1898 with 19 rooms, a dance hall and dining room it later became a bank before being restored to offer accommodation again. Today it is a true Boutique style hotel with just 7 double and 2 triple rooms with private bathrooms. The perfect place to stay if you arrive or depart with the ferry service of Smyril Line.

Wonderful family run Guesthouse in one of the most beautiful and remote places East Iceland has to offer. The guesthouse features rooms with shared facilities and very cozy apartments with self catering kitchenette. Fosshotel Eastfjords***, Fáskrúðsfjörður

This one is a keeper! The original building of Fosshotel Eastfjords used to house a hospital for French Fishermen in Fáskrúðsfjörður from 1903 til 1939 before it was moved to the other side of the fjord where it slowly deteriorated. In 2008 it was rebuild to modern standards in its original site now offering beautiful rooms to travellers in East Iceland. Its French connection is still honored by a special museum and in the restaurant, called L’Abri fusing Icelandic and French kitchen.
