Lake SPA Hotel Egilsstadir****

A wonderful cosy Country Hotel on the banks of Lake Lagarfljót in the Fljótsdalshérað region in Egilsstaðir, East Iceland. Hotel Aldan***,Seyðisfjörður town

Hotel Aldan is a lovely hotel with a historical atmosphere! Built in 1898 with 19 rooms, a dance hall and dining room it later became a bank before being restored to offer accommodation again. Today it is a true Boutique style hotel with just 7 double and 2 triple rooms with private bathrooms. The perfect place to stay if you arrive or depart with the ferry service of Smyril Line.

Wilderness Center - a Museum & Guesthouse, Fljótsdalur East Iceland 

The Wilderness Center is the brainchild of our lovely hosts Arna and Denni who created an authentic and peaceful hideaway right at the edge of North-Europe´s largest wilderness area in the Fljótsdalur Valley near Egilsstaðir in East Iceland. 
Here guests can truly experience the spirit of the past while visiting and even sleeping in an original "baðstofa", learn about traditional food and bath and relax in the Wilderness SPA. The award winning Wilderness Exhibition will show you how Icelanders survived throughout the centuries in the highlands. Our hosts also offer riding and hiking tours and for stargazers there is a very special stargazing observatory on site!

Guesthouse & Apartments Blábjörg, Borgarfjörður Eystri  

Wonderful family run Guesthouse in one of the most beautiful and remote places East Iceland has to offer. The guesthouse features  rooms with shared facilities and very cozy apartments with self catering kitchenette. Beautiful renovated restaurant in the Old Freezer Room offers local products and a cozy environment for a cup of coffee and dinner alike. The guesthouse even has a little SPA with sauna and inside and outside hot tubs. Incredible views from the outside hot tub over the mountain range across the fjord!

Hotel Bláféll***, Breiðdalsvík

​Hotel Bláfell is a true gem in a small village of just 139 inhabitants! Different buildings offer cozy country style accommodation from basic to superior rooms and cater for families as well. Self catering apartments with magnificent views over the mountain range around the little bay. Lovely lounge with fireplace and restaurant. Join a super jeep tour to Kistufell volcano or Tröllakrókar Canyon!

Fosshotel Eastfjords***, Fáskrúðsfjörður 

 ​​This one is a keeper! The original building of Fosshotel Eastfjords used to house a hospital for French Fishermen in Fáskrúðsfjörður from 1903 til 1939 before it was moved to the other side of the fjord where it slowly deteriorated. In 2008 it was rebuild to modern standards in its original site now offering beautiful rooms to travellers in East Iceland. Its French connection is still honored by a special museum and in the restaurant, called L’Abri fusing Icelandic and French kitchen. ​
