Day by day itinerary
Day 1 / Arrival: Guests will be picked up at the BSÍ bus station in Reykjavík at 17:00 and driven to the farm of our host Róbert. Enjoy a welcome dinner with the family and get to know your fellow riders! After dinner enjoy the outdoor hot tub, watching out for the Polar Lights! Day 2 / Riding tour - Geysir - Gullfoss After breakfast at the farm you set off for a guided riding tour around the farm grounds under the guidance of your host. In good weather you will enjoy the panoramic view of famous volcanoes and glaciers such as Mt. Hekla and the glaciers Tindfjallajökull and (in)famous Eyjafjallajökull. After lunch enjoy some marvelous sightseeing by car with your host to the erupting hot springs of the geothermal Geysir field and the beautiful Gullfoss Waterfall - it might even be frozen and is just magnificent to watch in every season! Dinner at the farm. Day 3 / Riding tour - Friðheimar - Faxi Waterfall - Secret Lagoon After breakfast another riding tour awaits you. Today we have a special lunch in store for you: It will be at the geothermally heated horticulture farm Friðheimar. We will have their speciality, a home made tomato soup from their own produces and some lovely bread- sitting warm and cozy surrounded by aromatic tomato plants! After this very special lunch we visit Faxi, a beautiful 80 meter wide waterfall and relax in the amazingly warm water of the geothermal bathing spring Secret Lagoon! With a little luck we might even see some Aurora borealis from our pool! After returning to the farm, dinner will be served. Day 4 / Riding tour - Exploring the South coast After breakfast you head off in the saddle again for your last riding tour of this trip. Lunch will be taken in a cozy local restaurant called "The old cowshed" before we explore the magical waterfalls Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss. The Black Beach of Reynisfara is made of black lava and the surrounding basalt columns give it an exceptional setting against the wild coastline. In the evening we return to the farm for a lovely Farewell dinner! Day 5 / Departure After breakfast, it's time to leave the farm and say goodbye. You will be back in Reykjavík around 13:00.
