On this 6 days horse riding tour we will discover the beautiful and versatile landscape of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. On horseback we will ride across mountain ridges with exhilarating views of the ocean all around and into deserted valleys which tell fascinating stories of the first settlers in Iceland. Travelling on old riding tracks, which are even today known to few locals. A highlight of the tour will be the day spend on the beach when you get to enjoy the great experience of riding tölt over black lava sand at low tide.
We travel in the traditional style with a herd of loose running spare horses in order to be able to ride for long distances at quite a high speed without tiring the horses. To see the free-running herd galloping along is an absolute unforgettable once-in-a- lifetime experience!
Every evening we leave the herd at their new destination while we drive back to the cozy guesthouse of the breeding farm.
