Day 1: Blue Lagoon - South Iceland Welcome to Iceland! Upon arrival pick up your rental car. Please note that the entrance to the Blue Lagoon must be booked well ahead of arriving since it is very popular. Follow directions towards the cottage and enjoy the Northern Lights in your hot tub – far away from light pollution! Day 2: Golden Circle & Fontana Spa Today is a day for discoveries! Drive to to famous Gullfoss Waterfall and Geysir Hot Springs at Haukadalur Geothermal field. Continue to Þingvellir National Park where you will be literally walking in between two continents. This is also the place where the old parliament, the Althing, was founded in 930.On the way back stop at Laugarvatn village for a visit at the Fontana Spa – enjoying a natural steam sauna and cooling off in Lake Laugarvatn! Back to the cottage for the night. Day 3: South Shore & Secret Lagoon Today your route will take you along the South Coast to the beautiful waterfalls Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss. At Skógar village a lovely heritage museum awaits you which you should not miss! If you are up for more adventures follow the ring road towards Vík town, the most southern tip of Iceland with a beautiful coast line and amazing views of cliffs and the Reynisdrangar basalt sea stacks. On the way back visit the amazing Lava Centre or book a fascinating walk on a glacier with an experienced glacier guide.After so much activity you might want to end the day at the Secret Lagoon! Day 4: Reykjavík After checking out drive back to Reykjavík via Selfoss town and the lovely coastal fishing villages Eyrarbakki and Stokkseyri. On your way you might want to visit the huge lava tunnel at Raufarhólshellir, a unique experience and a great opportunity to witness the inner workings of a volcanic eruption as you walk through the lava tunnel which was formed about 5200 years ago. Arriving in Reykjavík take your time to explore the charming nordic capital on your own! There are lots of museums, galleries, shops and cafés to explore. Check-into your hotel and discover the cozy downtown area of Reykjavík. Day 5: Back to the Airport Another chance to visit the Blue Lagoon on your way to the airport if you didn’t make it on your arrival day. Return the car at Keflavík Airport before checking in and have a safe flight home! |

In West Iceland on the beautiful Snæfellsnes Peninsula we offer accommodation at cozy The Holy Ram Lodge near the beach and with a direct view to the magic glacier Snæfellsnesjökull from the lounge. Included in the price is breakfast, lunch and dinner can be bought in addition on site. The charming fishing villages Arnarstapi and Hellnar are nearby, as well as the famous black lava beach Djúpalónssandur, the lava cave Vatnshellir and from the lovely harbor town Stykkishólmur you can go for a terrific Viking Sushi adventure!
Suggested tour plan: Day 1: Choice of Golden Circle, South Shore or a free afternoon in Reykjavík Upon arrival pick up your rental car. Depending on your arrival time and interest choose to tour either the Golden Circle, the South Shore with its numerous waterfalls or spend a free afternoon in Reykjavík, the beautiful capital with lots of cafés, bars, shops and museums. Overnight in Reykjavík. Day 2: West Iceland with optional tour into the Glacier or Vigelmir Lava cave In the early morning drive from Reykjavík to Húsafell in West Iceland. Visit the beautiful Hraunfossar waterfalls, perhaps join a tour into the glacier or into a huge lava tunnel, relax at the Krauma SPA before checking into your charming room at the The Holy Ram Lodge at Gröf Farm for two nights on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Day 3: Touring Snæfellsnes - Iceland in a nutshell Take the whole day to discover the many natural wonders this beautiful peninsula has to offer. Walk in between the charming fishing villages of Arnarstapi and Hellnar, join a glacier expedition onto Snæfellsnesjökull, explore a lava cave and taste fresh scallops on the Viking Sushi tour from Stykkishólmur harbor. Day 4: Borgarnes - Reykjavik After checking out at the farm lodge drive via Borgarnes town back to Reykjavík. Visit the fascinating Settlement Center in the town center and go for a coastal walk to Bjössa Róló a local treasure before enjoying lunch in the beautiful Englendingavík Café. Enjoy the many excellent dinner options and nightlife that the capital Reykjavík has to offer. Day 5: Optional Blue Lagoon – Departure Consider the chance to visit the Blue Lagoon on your way to the airport and return the car before checking in and have a safe flight home! Please note that reservations at the Blue Lagoon must be done well in advance. Optional: Add another night in Reykjavík or at the Holy Ram Lodge for your convenience! |
