The tour gives you the chance to enjoy many of the most amazing things Iceland has to offer – a great mixture of nature, history and adventure. The whole program takes about 5–6 hours. You will be picked up at your hotel and the drive takes about 30 min. Please note from the parking place there is a 40-50 min hike to get to the crater before we descend 120 meters/400 feet to the bottom of the crater in an open cable lift. |
Raufarhólshellir Cave
A journey into Raufarhólshellir is a unique experience and a great opportunity to witness the inner workings of a volcanic eruption you will walk in a path of lava that flowed during the Leitahraun eruption, which occurred east of the Bláfjöll mountains about 5200 years ago. Every winter spectacular ice sculptures are formed inside the entrance of the cave making the experience of visiting the lava tunnel even more breathtaking. |
