Cave Tours in Iceland

Our hand-picked Caving trips

Iceland is for sure a land of contrast in nature. We are not sure if you experience in many countries;
a) Go Into a glacier b)  See inside a volcano
c) Take a walk into a lava tunnel  d) Visit stunning ice caves
Which would be your favorite?

Víðgemlir Lava Cave

Picture

Take a guided walk into the mighty Víðgelmir lava cave with a help of our  access walkway. Great trip for the whole family! Caves are often dark, tight and uninviting places; however due to the state of the art feature lighting system this is not the case on this tour . The stunning beauty of Víðgelmir lava cave lies in the amazing colours and rock formations - you will be amazed!

The Cave Explorer offers the very best of caving, the ease, the light and the dark!

Into the Glacier Langjökull

On this day tour from Reykjavik we take you to explore around, on and within, the giant, 953sq/km glacier, with a bonus visits en-route to the glacier: Hraunfossar, a spectacular waterfall,  Kaldidalur, a highland track and Tingvellir, the beautiful national park with amazing scenery, to give you a truly memorable day. Lunch stop at Husafell ( where you will have the opportunity to buy lunch).

We reserve the right to change the itinerary and the mode of transport / cancel the trip, according to weather or road conditions, or circumstances beyond our control. In the winter time the duration of the tours may vary according to weather and road conditions.

Inside the Volcano

The tour gives you the chance to enjoy many of the most amazing things Iceland has to offer – a great mixture of nature, history and adventure. The whole program takes about 5–6 hours.

You will be picked up at your hotel and the drive takes about 30 min. Please note from the parking place there is a 40-50 min hike to get to the crater before we descend 120 meters/400 feet to the bottom of the crater in an open cable lift.

 Raufarhólshellir Cave

Picture

A journey into Raufarhólshellir is a unique experience and a great opportunity to witness the inner workings of a volcanic eruption you will walk in a path of lava that flowed during the Leitahraun eruption, which occurred east of the Bláfjöll mountains about 5200 years ago.

Every winter spectacular ice sculptures are formed inside the entrance of the cave making the experience of visiting the lava tunnel even more breathtaking.
